At Lyndale Park, animals are an integral part of the community, enriching the farm’s vibrant atmosphere and fostering a deep connection between residents and nature. From beloved pets to farm animals and agisted livestock, the variety of animals adds character and charm to the property, making it a truly unique and inviting place to live. The presence of these animals creates a warm, welcoming environment that emphasizes the close relationship between humans, animals, and the land.
The farm boasts a selection of farm pets, such as donkeys, deer, goats, and alpacas, all of which add personality and delight to the landscape. These animals contribute to the farm’s lively ambiance, often becoming favorites among residents and visitors alike. Of course, many residents have their own traditional pets (and some not so traditional)
Chickens
Lyndale Park is home to a thriving flock of around 30 chickens, housed in a spacious, roomy pen alongside a few ducks. This well-maintained setup provides the chickens with a comfortable and secure environment to thrive, while offering residents a steady supply of fresh, free-range eggs.
Donkeys
Lyndale Park is home to two friendly donkeys, Mack and Jack, who are much-loved farm pets and bring joy to the community. These gentle animals are always eager for attention and enjoy the company of residents and visitors alike.
Horses
Horses are an integral part of life at Lyndale Park, with many residents keeping their own horses as cherished companions and a part of their lifestyle. Horse facilities include a full size, sand-based ménage, two day yards, and secure tack room and hay shed.
Cows
Lyndale Park is home to a herd of cows that play an essential role in the farm’s agricultural activities. These cows are part of the farm’s agistment program, where they graze the lush pastures and contribute to maintaining the land's health and productivity. Their presence helps manage the property’s grasslands, ensuring they remain vibrant and sustainable for years to come.
Misfits
Sheep
At Lyndale Park, sheep are an integral part of both the farm’s agricultural activities and the community. While a few residents keep sheep as pets, most of the sheep on the property are agisted, contributing to the farm’s sustainable farming practices. These sheep graze the pastures, helping to manage the land and maintain healthy grasslands.
Native fauna
Lyndale is home to wide variety of native fauna such as kangaroos, wombats, possums, echidnas, marsupial mice, rakali, turtles and lizards. Platypus can be found in the creek and over 70 native bird species visit the farm to nest, rear their young end live off the native flora.
